OnePlus has suspended the rollout of two OxygenOS 16 updates — versions 16.0.7.XXX and 16.0.5.XXX — after a number of users reported abnormal restart and boot issues following installation. The company announced the pause in a community post in May 2026.
“To ensure device stability and protect user experience, we have immediately paused the rollout of the above-mentioned builds while our engineering team investigates the root cause and prepares a fix,” a OnePlus engineer wrote in the post.
Reports suggest the updates were intended for users in the US and India, likely covering devices from the OnePlus Nord CE 4 onwards, though OnePlus has not officially confirmed which devices were affected.
The company says it is treating the issue as its highest priority and will resume the rollout once the problem has been identified and the update has been validated for stability and reliability. No confirmed timeline has been provided. When the update does resume, it is expected to be available through the Settings app on affected devices.
“We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and concern this has caused. We understand the impact this may have on affected users, and we are taking this matter extremely seriously,” the engineer added. The company also said it is reviewing and strengthening its testing and quality assurance processes to help prevent similar issues in the future.
The pause comes as OnePlus has been actively expanding its product lineup, recently launching the OnePlus Nord 6, OnePlus Pad 4, Nord CE 6, and Nord CE 6 Lite. Separately, the company has begun rolling out OxygenOS 16.1 to the OnePlus 15 and OnePlus 13 series, introducing features including Live Space — a lock screen pill-shaped capsule similar to Samsung’s Now Bar — and an Organize tab for managing app drawer and home screen icons.
