Karnataka’s KITS announced in 2026 that it is inviting institutions across the state to host technology training camps as part of its Local Economy Accelerator Programme.
The initiative is designed to bring industry-relevant training to smaller cities across Karnataka, with the goal of bridging the gap between local talent and job opportunities. Institutions selected through the programme will collaborate with industry partners to deliver the training.
The Local Economy Accelerator Programme focuses on boosting local innovation and skilling, targeting areas outside major tech hubs that may have limited access to such resources. By partnering with established institutions, KITS aims to distribute training capacity more broadly across the state.
The programme could expand the reach of technology education to communities that have traditionally been underserved by industry-led skilling efforts, potentially increasing employability for candidates in smaller cities who might otherwise need to relocate for career opportunities.
