Samsung has announced the release schedule for its One UI 9 beta programme, with India set to join the rollout on May 26, 2026, as part of the second wave. The update, based on Android 17, is currently being rolled out to select countries including Germany, Korea, Poland, the UK, and the US.
Only the Galaxy S26, Galaxy S26+, and Galaxy S26 Ultra are eligible for the first wave of the beta. To register, users must sign up through the Samsung Members app on one of those devices.
One UI 9 introduces a redesigned Quick Panel that gives users independent control over the placement and size of brightness controls, sound controls, and the media player section, along with additional layout options for greater customisation.
Security receives an update as well. Samsung says One UI 9 can now detect high-risk apps, automatically warn users, block installation or execution attempts, and recommend deleting harmful applications based on updated security policies.
Accessibility features have also been expanded. A new adjustable Mouse Key cursor now supports variable speed controls, TalkBack functionality has been merged into a unified package combining Samsung and Google accessibility tools, and a new “Text Spotlight” feature displays selected text in a larger floating window to aid readability.
Samsung Notes gains decorative tapes and additional pen line styles for more personalised note-taking. The Contacts app now integrates with Creative Studio, allowing users to create personalised profile cards directly from within the app.
Samsung has confirmed that a stable build of One UI 9 will debut with an upcoming Galaxy flagship lineup. The full list of countries included in the beta programme has not yet been disclosed by the company.
