Bengaluru-based recovery-tech startup Owners ID has raised $260,000 in a pre-seed funding round led by Crucifer Investments, the company announced in May 2026.
Founded in November 2025 by Jesintha Louis, Owners ID builds QR-based products that allow finders of lost items to contact owners without revealing personal phone numbers or private information. The system works via smartphone cameras and QR scanning, requiring no batteries, special hardware, or app installation on the finder’s end.
The company said the funds will go toward product development, technology enhancement, manufacturing scale-up, mobile app improvements, AI-powered recovery systems, brand expansion, and entry into global markets.
Owners ID’s products cover a broad range of everyday categories, including luggage and travel accessories, keys and wallets, passports and documents, electronics, vehicles, pet tags, and personal valuables. The company describes its approach as building a “digital identity layer” for physical belongings.
The startup is targeting a significant addressable problem: industry estimates cited by the company put lost-item incidents in India at nearly 82 million annually, with the global figure exceeding 319 million cases per year.
The pre-seed capital may allow Owners ID to accelerate development of its platform at an early stage, as it looks to scale both domestically and internationally.
