OpenAI has finalized a new joint venture called The Deployment Company, valued at $10 billion and designed to help businesses integrate OpenAI’s AI software. The venture, announced in 2026, will remain under OpenAI’s control.
The company has secured more than $4 billion in funding from 19 investors, spanning private equity firms and other backers. Its primary focus will be accelerating AI adoption across various business sectors by supporting enterprises in deploying OpenAI’s technology.
The move signals OpenAI’s push to expand its commercial reach beyond developing AI models and into hands-on enterprise deployment. Rival Anthropic is also reported to be exploring similar strategies, suggesting the approach may become a broader trend among leading AI developers.
With a dedicated entity focused on business integration, OpenAI may be positioning itself to capture a larger share of enterprise AI spending — a market that has grown significantly as companies across industries look to adopt AI tools at scale.
