Samsung’s recently unveiled Galaxy S26 Ultra and Apple’s iPhone 17 Pro Max are set to compete in the flagship smartphone market. The Galaxy S26 Ultra boasts a new Privacy Display feature and faster 60W wired charging, challenging Apple’s dominance in the high-end segment.
The Galaxy S26 Ultra starts at ₹1,39,999 for the base variant and goes up to ₹1,89,999 for the top-tier 1TB model. The iPhone 17 Pro Max is priced from ₹1,49,900 to ₹2,29,900 for the 256GB to 2TB configurations.
Both devices feature a 6.9-inch display with a 120Hz refresh rate. The iPhone 17 Pro Max sports a Super Retina XDR OLED display with Apple’s Ceramic Shield 2 glass, while the Galaxy S26 Ultra has a QHD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with Corning’s Gorilla Armor 2 glass. Notably, the Galaxy S26 Ultra introduces the Privacy Display, which restricts side-angle visibility for enhanced user privacy.
In terms of performance, the iPhone 17 Pro Max is powered by Apple’s A19 Pro chipset and 12GB of RAM, running iOS 26. The Galaxy S26 Ultra is equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 Mobile processor and Samsung’s OneUI 8.5 based on Android 16, promising 7 years of software updates.
Both devices offer impressive camera setups, with the iPhone 17 Pro Max featuring a triple camera system. The competition between Samsung and Apple continues to drive innovation in the flagship smartphone market.
