Chinese autonomous driving startup ZYT, a spin-off from DJI, is set to unveil a new AI system at the Beijing auto show in April. CEO Shen Shaojie, 39, revealed that the company’s ‘mobility foundation model’ can navigate the bustling streets of Shenzhen more effectively than his own driving skills.
Unlike traditional autonomous systems, ZYT’s AI does not rely on predefined modules or location-specific training. Instead, it learns to drive by processing diverse data sources, including video feeds from drones, robots, and even moving cameras carried by individuals. This comprehensive data allows the AI to navigate various vehicles and environments more effectively than conventional systems tailored to specific road conditions.
ZYT’s innovative approach signals a shift in autonomous technology development, emphasizing adaptability and efficiency. The company’s advancements highlight the evolving landscape of AI-driven solutions and the race to redefine transportation norms worldwide.
