HCLTech and Suchi Semicon have announced a strategic partnership to offer a comprehensive design-to-backend semiconductor solution. This collaboration combines HCLTech’s semiconductor design expertise and global customer reach with Suchi Semicon’s outsourced semiconductor assembly and test (OSAT) manufacturing capabilities in Gujarat, as reported by Tech-Economic Times.
The partnership does not involve any equity participation or the creation of a shared manufacturing entity, ensuring the independence of both companies. Suchi Semicon’s founder, Shetal Mehta, stated that the collaboration allows them to approach the market both individually and jointly, leveraging HCLTech’s strong design relationships and customer access alongside Suchi’s semiconductor packaging manufacturing expertise.
HCLTech’s existing joint venture with Foxconn for display semiconductor manufacturing remains separate from this endeavor, focusing on specific product categories distinct from the HCLTech-Suchi Semicon partnership. Suchi Semicon, based in Surat, is progressing beyond pilot phases at its OSAT facility, with initial shipments to clients in the US, Europe, and Asia. The company aims to begin commercial production in FY27, targeting a long-term capacity of three million units per day by 2029-30.
The partnership anticipates contributing double-digit million units annually once customer qualifications and production capacity are fully established.
