Bengaluru-based telephony infrastructure startup Vobiz.ai has raised $1 million in a seed funding round led by Piper Serica VC Fund, announced in 2026. The company said the capital will be used to strengthen its engineering and go-to-market capabilities.
Vobiz.ai was co-founded last year by Suman Gandham and Vikash Srivastava. The company operates an API-driven platform that provides low-latency, secure voice infrastructure designed for AI voice agents and applications. Its offerings include instant DID provisioning, low-latency SIP trunking, real-time streaming, noise cancellation, and compliance automation aligned with Indian telecom regulations.
The startup positions itself as a response to the limitations of traditional telephony systems in handling conversational AI workloads — specifically challenges around high latency, limited programmability, poor call control, and fragmented developer experiences. Its platform also includes low-latency call bridging optimized for AI response cycles and real-time streaming for large language model integrations.
Over the next 12 to 18 months, Vobiz.ai plans to expand its DID inventory and carrier partnerships, enhance real-time streaming capabilities, and introduce advanced observability and enterprise-grade compliance tools. The company competes with players including Exotel, Plivo, Twilio, Telnyx, and Ubona.
The funding comes as the broader voice AI market is projected to reach $32.47 billion by 2030, growing at a compound annual growth rate of 29%, according to market research cited by the company. This context may help explain the investor interest in purpose-built infrastructure for AI-driven voice applications.
