Legal-tech startup Lawyered has raised $2.5 million in a pre-Series A funding round co-led by Rainmatter, the investment arm of Zerodha, and Turbostart, with participation from existing investor Finvolve. The round was announced in April 2026.
Founded in 2018 by Himanshu Gupta and headquartered in Gurugram, Lawyered operates as an AI-driven legal assistance platform focused on the mobility sector. Its two core products — LOTS247, a roadside legal aid service, and ChallanPay, a traffic fine resolution tool — serve vehicle owners, drivers, and logistics businesses across India.
The company previously raised Rs 8.5 crore on the business reality show IdeaBaaz at a Rs 120 crore pre-money valuation, with backing from VC investor Pawan Jaggi, Sandesh Sharda, The Sleep Company co-founder Priyanka Salot, and Arjun Vaidya.
Lawyered said the fresh capital will be used to scale its technology infrastructure, strengthen product offerings, and accelerate user acquisition, with a focus on expanding its AI-led capabilities.
According to the company, its platforms currently cover over 2 million vehicles and serve more than 800 businesses across India. LOTS247 and ChallanPay have together resolved over 200,000 legal matters, helping users avoid more than $6 million in penalties and downtime costs.
Lawyered has stated plans to move beyond the mobility sector into areas including finance, real estate, healthcare, and e-commerce, with the aim of embedding legal compliance tools directly into everyday business operations. The company describes its approach as shifting legal services from a reactive model to a proactive one, using generative AI to flag and resolve risks before they affect users or businesses.
